Full review: https://fandomwire.com/the-dreadful-review/ Rating: C "The Dreadful settles into a space where its Gothic atmosphere and the high-profile reunion of its leads are undermined by a familiar narrative structure. The slow-burn pace often feels like a mask for a lack of genuine surprises or narrative momentum, and while Sophie Turner and Kit Harington deliver committed performances that navigate complex themes of submission and religious fanaticism, the generic execution prevents the story of Anne's awakening from feeling as impactful or memorable as it should. It's a somber meditation on the heavy toll of survival and the shifting nature of trust, reminding us that personal awakening is often the most violent and necessary act of survival one can face."
