เรื่องย่อ
อุบัติเหตุรถยนต์ท่ามกลางการจราจรในชั่วโมงเร่งด่วน ส่วนใหญ่มักจะไม่ได้ส่งผลทำให้ใครต้องเสียชีวิต แต่ในวันนี้ครั้งนี้ อุบัติเหตุรถชนกันธรรมดา จะทำให้คนแปลกหน้าที่ไม่เคยรู้จักกันเลย กลายเป็นคู่อาฆาตกัน แม้ว่าวิธีการที่ทั้งสองใช้ห้ำหั่นกันและกันอาจแตกต่าง แต่เป้าหมายของทั้งสองนั้นเหมือนกัน นั่นคือต่างพยายามอย่างยิ่งที่จะทำลายชีวิตของอีกฝ่ายเพื่อชดเชยสิ่งที่ตน เองต้องสูญเสียไป เก-วิน บาเน็ค (เบน อัฟเฟล็ค) ทนายความผู้ทรงอิทธิพล กำลังขับรถซอกแซกไปตามถนนที่การจราจรคับคั่งเพื่อไปศาลให้เร็วที่สุด เพราะเขากำลังจะสาย ในอีกเลนหนึ่ง ดอยล์ กิ๊บสัน (แซมมวล แอล. แจ็คสัน) พ่อคนหนึ่งที่ศาลกำลังจะตัดสินว่าเขาจะมีสิทธิ์ได้พบ หน้าลูกๆอีกหรือไม่ และเขาไม่มีเวลาอีกต่อไปแล้ว ในด้านหนึ่ง บาเน็ค และกิ๊บสันคือชายสองคนที่แตกต่างกัน คนหนึ่งต่อสู้เพื่อให้ไปถึงจุดสูงสุดของอาชีพของตน ส่วนอีกคนกำลังพยายามไปให้พ้นจากสภาพที่ตกต่ำสุดขีด แต่อุบัติครั้งนี้ จะนำให้คนแปลกหน้าสองคนนี้ไปสู่จุดพลิกผันของชีวิต และพิสูจน์ให้เห็นว่าความหุนหัน ทำให้คนทั้งสองที่แม้จะอยู่คนละสภาพ สามารถแสดงออกถึงความชั่วร้ายได้อย่างเท่าเทียมกัน

Decent watch, probably won't watch again, and can't whole-heartedly recommend. It is amazing all that can happen from a simple car collision, but it is more of a privileged jerk effect than the Butterfly Effect. This whole movie is sort of a philosophical discussion of moral ambiguity with a secondary question of whether one side fuels the other. While I enjoy this do, don't show philosophical battle, the realism of the insanity that occurs in this movie is terrifying. The movie is as good as it could be, but it's awkwardly average in the end.
It was pretty.... interesting, but I can't imagine it's the sort of thing I'd ever re-visit. Strong performances are forthcoming from Sam Jackson and Toni Collette, everyone else is sort of stale. There's not a lot of movies out there like _Changing Lanes_, so it's a shame that it didn't end stronger. _Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole_.
