Synopsis
De zesdelige Italiaanse serie 'Totti – Il Capitano' richt zich op de laatste twee jaar van de carrière van wereldkampioen voetbal Francesco Totti (Pietro Castellitto). In 2016 en een trotse voetballeeftijd van 39 jaar heeft de oude aanvoerder van AS Roma zijn zinnen gezet op het einde van zijn rommelende carrière. Hij zou er graag nog een paar jaar aan toevoegen, maar er is grote wrijving met de teruggekeerde coach Luciano Spalletti (Gianmarco Tognazzi), die ooit werd beschouwd als een bewonderaar en supporter van Totti. Zal de veteraan van AS, bij zijn fans bekend als de 'achtste koning van Rome', erin slagen zijn carrière een afgerond einde te geven?
