Handlung
The story of Karen and Richard Carpenter, the brother‑sister duo whose angelic sound defined an era while masking profound personal struggles. The episode traces their rise from a suburban California childhood to international stardom, driven by Karen’s warm, crystalline voice and Richard’s meticulous musical arrangements. Biography explores their string of hits—songs that became synonymous with soft‑rock perfection—and the intense pressures of fame that weighed heavily behind the scenes. The program examines Karen’s battle with anorexia, a then‑little‑understood illness that silently worsened even as the duo continued to charm audiences worldwide. Through interviews, archival footage, and reflections from friends and collaborators, the episode paints a moving portrait of extraordinary talent intertwined with deep vulnerability. Ultimately, it reveals a legacy of music filled with beauty and melancholy, forever shaped by both harmony and heartbreak.
